Display idea

A lady on Stashbusters was asking how we display fabric postcards.... I have a swag of ribbon on the wall in my sewing room and I have pegged the postcards up with mini pegs, I think it looks pretty cute!

I've called in the reinforcements

I'm working on the final border of Karrie's quilt for our International Round Robin. It is looking nice and I am nearly finished BUT...

The problem is that i have NEVER done an mitered corner in my life, and this border needs all 4 corners mitered. So, I have called in reinforcements - in the form of my Mum who has been mitering corners since she was in school!

Should be able to get it finished today and in the mail tomorrow.... then I just have to wait for my quilt to be returned - I am very excited and cant wait to see it!!

UPDATE:

It took Mum and me 3.5 hours to get the 4 miters done... trust me to pick a difficult border to miter (it is a pieced border) !

The quilt is looking great - now I just need to take a photo and write in the notebook, then I can bag it up to send.

Potato Chip quilt (part 2)

Here is the top all finished! The blue border was cut at 1.5" and the final border was cut at 6.5" (to make best use of the fabric that I had). I added interfacing to the border fabric (it was a little bit thin). It is big enough for a double bed. Here is a close up, I just HAD to show you the beautiful border fabric (and YES it was in my stash!)...

First the "action" shot (we thought it might look nice outside but the wind was a bit strong)

So we moved inside for the next photo...

And here is my crazy cat at work again, I went to bed the other night and found him sleeping between the pillows!
