embroidery hoop art

a new wall display for my sewing room, made from some old embroidery hoops, some scrap fabrics and buttons...

i LOVE it!!

just too cute (and easy!)

it is little M's (a close friend's daughter) 3rd birthday on monday and she is getting a puppy, so i decided to make a bed for the new family member.

(my newest quilt inspector just had to make sure that the bed was suitable!)

idea came from here, i just added a cute appliqué and used an old pillow to fill it - less chance of the puppy getting little bits of stuffing to chew on and spread all over the house!   all the makings came from my stash and it only took me an hour to make at, and i think it is pretty cute!

Miss Prudence gets some accessories

earlier on in the year i made a cute little softie called Miss Prudence as a gift for a friend's daughter.  i made her outfit from some clothing from my friend's mother, who sadly passed away before her granddaughter was born. 

when i disassembled the clothing i saved all of the buttons and a zip, with the intention of putting them to use accessorising Miss Prudence.

next time i visit my friend i will get to give Miss Prudence her new accessories
